Bola Mudasiru to serve as Panelist and Technical Paper Presenter at UNESCO Africa Engineering Week & African Engineering Conference
Engr. Dr. Bola J. Mudasiru, FNSE, Ag. National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Highway and Transportation Engineers (NIHTE) and Vice President-Elect of the West African Federation of Engineering Organizations (WAFEO), will represent Nigeria at the 12th UNESCO Africa Engineering Week & 10th African Engineering Conference scheduled for 13–17 September 2026 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Chartered Civil Engineer and global infrastructure leader will contribute to continental discussions on climate-resilient infrastructure and the role of artificial intelligence in building future-ready African cities.
Dr. Mudasiru’s participation reflects his growing profile as a distinguished engineering voice in Africa, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, resilience, innovation and the application of emerging technologies to the built environment.
On Tuesday, 15 September 2026, Dr. Mudasiru will serve as a Panelist at Plenary 2, titled: “Climate-Resilient Infrastructure – Sustainable Cities & Adaptive Infrastructure for Africa’s Urban Future.”
The high-level plenary will examine critical issues including climate-resilient transport, infrastructure financing, green buildings, resilient cities, nature-based solutions and resilient water infrastructure. The session will be moderated by Eng. Eric Ohaga of Kenya, with Dr. Mudasiru joining Eng. Machibya Masanja and Eng. Martin Kalibbala as panelists accordingly.
His presence on the panel places his extensive infrastructure experience within a continental conversation on how Africa can develop cities and infrastructure systems, capable of withstanding climate pressures while supporting sustainable economic growth.
Dr. Mudasiru will further contribute to the conference’s Parallel Technical Programme on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, where he is scheduled to present a technical paper in the Digital Transformation stream titled: “Engineering the Digital Nervous System: AI and Emerging Technologies for Future-Ready African Infrastructure”.
The paper presentation positions Dr. Mudasiru at the intersection of engineering, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies — reflecting the increasingly important role of digital intelligence in the planning, delivery, operation and future-proofing of Africa’s infrastructure.
